Dry first
Same rule as muddy wool: don’t wet a load of clay and paddle it around. Sweep, vacuum, or blow the loose mineral off. Then a damp mop on the glaze is fine. Grout still needs more.
We extract patio grout so the mineral leaves the pore instead of spreading. BBQ grease on the same patio is a separate chemistry—say if both are present. UV inspection helps when pets have added their own map of spots you can’t see in afternoon glare.
Outdoor grout lives a harder life. If the line is crumbling, cleaning won’t recement it. We’ll tell you when you need grout repair rather than another wash.
